Course Overview: The MAT Solu-Cortef Course provides the core content on safe medication administration procedures for providers administering medications to children in their care in child day program and private school settings. This course is for providers who only wish to be certified to administer the medication Solu-Cortef.

There are two options to complete this course (see below). Please email matsupport@medhomeplus.org if further clarification is needed.

• Option 1 is for providers who are NOT MAT-certified: You are not authorized to administer Solu-Cortef medication to the children in your care until you have successfully completed MAT Solu-Cortef Part 1 (online), MAT Solu-Cortef Administration Reference Video (online) and MAT Solu-Cortef Part 2 (in the classroom with an approved MAT Diabetes Trainer). You will not earn an official MAT Solu-Cortef Certificate until you complete and pass all required portions of the training.
• Option 2 is for providers who ARE currently MAT-certified: If you are currently MAT-certified, you do not need to complete MAT Solu-Cortef Part 1. You are not authorized to administer Solu-Cortef medication to the children in your care until you have successfully completed the MAT Solu-Cortef Administration Reference Video (online) and MAT Solu-Cortef Part 2 (in the classroom with an approved MAT Diabetes Trainer). You will not earn an official MAT Solu-Cortef Certificate until you complete and pass all required portions of the training.

Admission Requirements for Option 1: Current CPR/First Aid Certification and a valid MAT Solu-Cortef Part 1 Completion Certificate are the admission requirements for option 1. MAT Solu-Cortef Part 1 Completion Certificates are valid for 6 months. If you do not complete MAT Solu-Cortef Part 2 within 6 months of taking MAT Solu-Cortef Part 1, you will be required to take MAT Solu-Cortef Part 1 again.

Admission Requirements for Option 2: Current CPR/First Aid Certification and current MAT or MAT First Renewal Certification are the admission requirements for option 2.
