Course Overview: The MAT First Renewal Course covers administering oral liquid and tablet medications, inhalers and nebulizers, ear and eye medications, topical medications and EpiPen epinephrine auto-injector in a condensed format.

Warning: You are not authorized to administer medications to children using the skills covered in this course until you have successfully completed both MAT First Renewal Part 1 (online) and MAT First Renewal Part 2 (classroom). You must complete both parts 1 and 2 to earn an official MAT First Renewal Certificate, which certifies you to administer the medications covered in this course.
Prerequisite Requirement: Only providers who hold a current or recently expired (within 90 days) MAT Certificate are eligible to take the MAT First Renewal Course. Those who hold a current MAT First Renewal Certificate are NOT eligible to renew again via the MAT First Renewal Course. You must provide proof of your qualifying MAT Certificate directly to your MAT Trainer for entry to MAT First Renewal Part 2. Admission Requirements: Proof of current CPR/First Aid certification is required for admission to MAT First Renewal Part 2. A valid MAT First Renewal Part 1 Completion Certificate is also required for admission to MAT First Renewal Part 2. MAT First Renewal Part 1 Completion Certificates are valid for 3 months.
Important Course Information: MAT First Renewal Part 1 is graded on a pass/fail basis. You must take and pass the MAT First Renewal Online Test to complete this online course. You only get two attempts to pass this test with a score of 80% or higher. The test is open book and you are encouraged to use your handouts. Watching the videos provided below is optional. Please note that there is no instruction or practice time in the MAT First Renewal Part 2 class. MAT First Renewal Part 2 consists of hands-on skills testing only.
