Please Note: You must be currently MAT-Certified to be eligible to take the MAT Diabetes Course. Please email matsupport@medhomeplus.org if further clarification is needed.

Course Overview: The MAT Diabetes Course covers administering blood glucose and urine ketone tests, calculating insulin doses, giving insulin by syringe and pen injector, and giving glucagon. This course also covers content on insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, nasal glucagon and glucagon injection.

Warning: You are not authorized to administer the medications covered in this course to the children in your care until you have sucessfully completed both MAT Diabetes Part 1 (online) and MAT Diabetes Part 2 (in the classroom with an approved MAT Diabetes Trainer). You will not earn an official MAT Diabetes Certificate until you complete and pass both parts 1 and 2.

Prerequisite Requirements: Only providers who hold a current MAT Certificate or MAT First Renewal Certificate are eligible to take the MAT Diabetes Course. You must provide proof of your current MAT or MAT First Renewal Certification directly to your MAT Diabetes Trainer for entry to MAT Diabetes Part 2. Admission Requirements: Current CPR/First Aid Certification, current MAT or MAT First Renewal Certification, and a valid MAT Diabetes Part 1 Completion Certificate are the admission requirements for this course. MAT Diabetes Part 1 Completion Certificates are valid for 6 months. If you do not complete MAT Diabetes Part 2 within 6 months of taking MAT Diabetes Part 1, you will be required to take MAT Diabetes Part 1 again.
