The MAT Diabetes Course was NEWLY REVISED to include new content on insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, nasal glucagon, new delivery techniques for injected glucagon, and other new information. Also note NEW HANDOUT POLICY below.

The MAT Diabetes Course covers administering blood glucose and urine ketone tests, as well as calculating insulin doses, giving insulin by syringe and pen injector, and giving glucagon.

Successfully completing MAT Diabetes Part 1 enables you to print your MAT Diabetes Part 1 Completion Certificate, which is required for admission to the MAT Diabetes Part 2 classroom course. This part 1 completion certificate is valid for 6 months.

NEW HANDOUTS: You will need the MAT Diabetes Handouts while taking this online course, but you DO NOT need to print them all. The handouts for each module are posted in that module and you can download/view them on your computer, digitally. You DO NOT need to bring your handouts to the MAT Diabetes Part 2 classroom course. If you need to print out a handout to use to complete an exercise during this online course, that will be noted in the module instructions.

REQUIREMENT: Only providers who hold a current MAT Certificate or MAT First Renewal Certificate are eligible to take the MAT Diabetes Course. You must bring your qualifying MAT Certificate or MAT First Renewal Certificate to the MAT Diabetes Part 2 classroom course to be admitted. If you've lost your paper MAT Certificate or cannot access your MAT Certificate, please email our MAT Customer Service System: matsupport@medhomeplus.org

WARNING: You are NOT AUTHORIZED to give medications to children using the skills covered in this course until you have successfully completed BOTH the MAT Diabetes Part 1 online course AND the MAT Diabetes Part 2 classroom course, and have earned your official MAT Diabetes Certificate.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT: Evidence of current CPR/First Aid certification is required for admission to all MAT Program part 2 classroom courses.
